Professional Disc Golfer and 2017 USDGC Champion Nate Sexton reached out to us and asked us if we would be interested in hosting a meet and greet event as he passed through Nebraska on his tour. It was a no-brainer for us as we immediately said, "Yes please!"
If you don't know who Nate Sexton is, he plays on the Team Innova Star Team and is PDGA# 18824 with a current rating of 1037. If you don't know much about Disc Golf, he is REALLY good. Sexton throws many Innova Discs but prefers a few over the others. His most notable disc is the Innova Discs Champion Firebird.
We worked out the details in less than 24hrs and promoted it through our social channels and word-of-mouth as quickly and effectively as possible. We knew we wanted it to be worth his time to stop in and there were plenty of people who were excited to meet him and get his autograph on discs, shirts, posters, and even sub-woofer box covers.
We ended up with a great turnout and had a lot of excited fans even drive from other towns to visit with Sexton. Looking through Instagram we found some very appreciative people including @jakebobtom on Instagram who said, "Thanks for making a stop @frisbeenate. My kids were very excited and that made their day (and mine too)."
Overall, it was success and a really fun event that we would love to do again in the future. Our team was very eager to meet with Sexton and we couldn't let him leave without a team photo of course. Nate, thank you for stopping in Omaha and you are welcome anytime!
