Innova Firebird

I’m really liking the Firebirds. They are dependably over stable yet easier to get them to stand up. I’ve been using these when I need reliable fade on 350+\- holes. This disc was exactly as ordered. Flies fast and straight out of the hand with late fade. The more beat in it gets the more distance I am getting out of it.

Fast fairway driver that resists turning and then fades hard, oftentimes giving a good skip. Everyone should have a disc like this in their bag. Super useful in the wind or for hard turns. A lot of people use them as their go to forehand driver. Firebirds are great, they are ubiquitous, and they are affordable. That said, I don't know that they are still the best at what they do. There are a lot of options out there now. Discraft Raptor, Prodigy FX-2, MVP Motion, Axiom Fireball, Gateway Blade, Dynamic Discs Felon, Latitude 64 Pioneer, Westside Ahti, Kastaplast Stal, Streamline Flare, Infinite Discs Scepter, and there are probably more, but you get the idea. Here's the thing. For all around performance, I like the Stal better. For extreme overstability and big skips, I like the Flare better. For a ton of plastics that fly differently but predictably in how they will be different, the Felon is better. And by all accounts the Scepter is the exact same Firebird mold but always cooled to have that nice flat top that people like.

This Halo Star Firebird wasn't as overstable as my champion firebird, but the lower weight was exactly what i was looking for to replace my lost disc.

It’s a classic! The most reliable utility disc out there. I almost exclusively use it for forehands, where it can be forced over HARD but still fight back with it’s absurd fade.

Champ Firebird has some dome, which helps its fade push more forward rather than being dumpy like my flat 11x Firebird. Still a very overstable forehand disc that I can rely on to battle strong headwinds and fight out of anny.
